Andean Mountain Cat

Other names: Bergkatze (German); chinchay (Spanish); osjo (Peru)
Description: Living in the cold, rocky mountains of the high Andes, the Andean Mountain Cats have rarely ever been seen in their wild habitat. About the size of a big house cat, it has a beautiful, silver-gray coat patterned with brown stripes and spots.
Its long, bushy tail is marked with seven distinct dark brown rings. Also found in Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile, the Andean Mountain Cat eats small mammals. birds, and lizards.
